I will send a robocall to students in any positive pools from yesterday. We did 9-12 and 3-6. There is a plan in place for PreK-2 and 7-8 for next week if your student is deemed a close contact and participates in the program but did not get tested this week.
-Wendy

Good morning. Nursing staff worked throughout the day yesterday (1/18) to contact trace the many cases that came in over the weekend. Mrs. Viera will be sending out robocalls to all those that are a close contact and the dates (to the best of her ability). Please continue to notify her if your student develops symptoms and/or tests positive so she can update records. You can email her with any questions wviera@sad4.org.

PCSS Remote Learning Instructions for students for week of January 18-21
Middle School Students - You need to attend the Google Classroom "meets" that your teachers set up for you for your classes. Follow the same schedule as you would normally have. You do not have to tune into your specials. If you do not have a reliable internet connection at home, you can come to school and set up in the library for the day. Mrs. Ellis's and Mrs. Bradford's classes are not required to attend any virtual classroom time meets. Those two teachers will let you know what you need to get done via email or they have already sent it home with you.
High School Students - You will need to look at your teachers' Google Classrooms and keep up with the assignments for the week. If you have questions about those assignments you will need to email your teacher or tune into their office hours. All HS teacher office hours are at 1-2 pm each day. They will send out a Google Meets link for that.
If parents have questions please call the office tomorrow and we will get back to ASAP.

With our first exposures after vacation, and the first round of pooled testing still pending, any pool participant that is exposed will be given a Binax test to assure your child is negative. Please notify Mrs. Viera if your child is exposed outside of the school for guidance. New guidelines DO allow pooled participants to continue to come to school if exposed outside of school/in the home. 876-4633 wviera@sad4.org

The DOE has aligned its new guidelines to match the updated Maine CDC guidelines that went into place on 12/30.
Under the new SOP:
-Bus exposures will no longer be quarantined due to the Federal mask mandate on public transportation
-Close contacts who are not pooled or fully vaccinated will need to quarantine for five days, returning on day six if no symptoms have developed.
-If students participate in pooled testing, they may continue to attend school/school-related activities such as sports but will need to quarantine from the community, even if the exposure was at home or in the community (a BIG change!) The community quarantine includes community/rec sports, day care, after school jobs, etc.
-All who are exposed are expected to wear a mask for ten days after the exposure.
As has been the case for almost two years now, these guidelines are subject to change. If changes are made, we will be sure to notify you and the community as we are now.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Viera with any questions at 876-4633 or wviera@sad4.org (I do not check Facebook often so please don't reply here).

As the Athletic Director here at PCSS, I am thrilled and proud to say that during yesterday's two middle school basketball games, I enjoyed the experience of both sets of fans being positive throughout both games toward both the players and officials. For this, I thank you all! Stay safe and Happy New Year!

The girls and boys games scheduled at Searsport on Saturday, January 29 have new start times. The girls will play at 1:00 followed by the boys at 2:30. Departure time will be 10:00.
