Pi Day comes early at PCSS!
On Thursday morning, the entire 7/8 student body participated in several events and activities based around Pi Day which takes place annually on March 14th. Students competed in a bracket-style competition where teams of students participated in short challenges throughout the day. The goal was to build excitement around math, encourage positive competition, and create a high-energy, structured event that students would remember. The day also included a Pi Recital where students got to showcase how many digits of Pi they had memorized.
Congratulations to our top 6 competitors:
Tied for fourth place: Xandz Rioux, Aurora Schubert, and Owen Boyce with 19 digits of Pi
3rd Place: Colton York with 28 digits of Pi
2nd Place: Dante Fleming with 47 digits of Pi
1st Place: Isaiah Mcfarland with 53 digits of Pi
A special shout out to the 7/8 team of teachers for taking a Pi to the Face at the end of the day!

'Tis the Season!!!
The bush outside my office is budding! I've seen many kids kicking in with their allergies. If your student suffers from seasonal allergies and typically takes an antihistamine during the spring season, now would be the time to consider starting it up again. Stock up on your tissues and hand sanitizer!
