High School Course Sign-Up Night is April 10 at 5:30 pm. We will be serving a light dinner and talking about optimal high school planning for postsecondary career and college placement. After dinner and a short talk, parents will join their child's advisor to actually schedule classes for next year. This activity is for 8th through 11 grade and their families. However, the grand opening of the library renovation is also happening that night and we certainly would love to see senior and 7th grade families as well.

One Book - One School Charlotte's Web Chapter 18 When Mrs. Arable saw Fern on the ferris wheel, she said,” My, my! Henry Fussy. Think of that!” What do you think she was thinking at that moment? Was her conversation with Dr. Dorian coming true? Charlotte was busy creating the last word for the web. What was it and why was it chosen? Chapter 19 Do you have anything you would consider your magnum opus? Why would you say it is so important? Do you have plans to make or do another one? What are the characteristics of a magnum opus? Templeton comes back from the fairgrounds swollen to twice his size. He went on and on about all of the wonderful food he discovered at the fairgrounds. It was a regular feast. Talk about a time when you have felt like Templeton. When Templeton comes back with the last word, Charlotte says she hopes he got a good one because it is the last word she will write. Why is this word so important?

SPRING CONCERNS: Besides bringing pollens and allergens, Spring also brings the re-emergence of our lovely, pesky, little friends...the TICKS! If your child plays outside, in the brush, the woods, the tall grasses, you can help prevent a tick bite. Ticks move in an upward fashion, so tucking pants into socks, shirts into pants, wearing a hat, and using a bugspray with deet is helpful! Please check your child for ticks upon coming inside. (Light colored clothing makes it easier to see them on the outside of clothing). They prefer to embed in the warm areas, back of knees, groin, armpits, nape of neck, behind the ears... (I usually freeze ticks that I remove from a student so if an illness develops within a month of the bite, the tick can be analyzed for Lyme, if needed). If you remove a tick at home and are concerned, don't hesitate to reach out for guidance! Enjoy the weather!!! -Mrs Viera wviera@sad4.org 876-1363
