SENIOR SPOTLIGHT! Bear Yelverton will be attending the University of Maine with a major in Engineering. His high school activities include Can We? (10, 11), Drama (11, 12), and Ski Club (9). You all should've received a text and email from Mrs. Viera explaining that if your student takes ANY medications outside of the school day that will need to be taken on this trip, she needs to have it by the end of the day tomorrow (5/22). Friday is a half day for students, but Mrs. Viera will be in her PCES office until 3:00. Please bring the prescription bottle with you and the attached form if possible, and she will take the necessary doses and return the bottle directly to you. Hope Hunt has had many accomplishments in her two years in the TCTC welding program and she added another to her list recently as she was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. Congratulations, Hope!

Here is the athletic schedule for the upcoming week. There have been several changes in the last few days.
The PCMS baseball and softball games @ Lee on Tuesday will now start at 3:30. Their games at Penquis on Thursday will no longer be held in Brownville, and will now be played at Harris field in Milo.

Parking information:
• Prom attendees should park across the street in the designated student parking area.
•Families attending the Grand March are asked to park along the roadway or at the wharf and walk up so we can reserve the parking lot for prom attendees.
IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER:
No one is permitted on the railroad tracks at any time. Not only is this extremely dangerous, but there is also a $10,000 fine per person for trespassing on the tracks. Cameras are in place and the area is monitored.

This afternoon, May 12, a cell phone battery caught fire on the Cambridge/Parkman Bus 16 route. The bus driver safely evacuated all students immediately, and students were transferred to another bus to complete the route. No injuries have been reported. We appreciate the quick response of the driver and Transportation Director in ensuring student safety.
Due to the forecast for tomorrow, May 13th, the PCES Art Show and Outdoor Concert will be rescheduled for next Wednesday, May 20th, starting at 5:00 pm.

(10, 11), Drama Club (10, 11), Student Council (9, 11, 12), and Track (9, 10, 11). His favorite memory of high school is wandering the halls and he is most looking forward to trying all of the restaurants in Waterville. Congratulations, Landon!
Gilbert Steps down as PCHS Boys Soccer Coach
The PCHS Boys Soccer team will look a little different on the sidelines this year, as Trey Gilbert has decided to step down from his position as head coach. Trey is a 1998 graduate of PCHS. He has coached the Pirates since 2016, when he took over for John Riitano. Trey has coached dozens of young men during his time at PCHS, including his sons Bryce, Kobe, and Gavyn. The past two seasons under Coach Gilbert have been extremely successful for the Pirates, as they won back to back Northern Maine regional titles. After coming up just short in the 2024 State game, the Pirates had a perfect record of 18-0 in 2025, and brought home the first Soccer State title in 40 years. We would like to thank Trey for his years of dedication to Pirate Soccer and for the generosity he continually demonstrates toward Pirate Athletics and SAD4 as a whole. We know his decision was not one he took likely, and we are thankful for the memories and lessons you provided to our athletes during your tenure.
Taking over the role of head coach of Boys soccer in 2026 will be Graham Goulette. Graham is a 1995 graduate of PCHS and was a member of the 1994 Eastern Maine Champion soccer team. In recent years has coached successful PCMS soccer and basketball teams and is currently the PCHS Boys Basketball assistant coach. Graham came highly recommended by Coach Gilbert, and we feel his vision for the future and familiarity with the team make him a natural fit for the program going forward. Welcome aboard, Coach Goulette!
