Cold temps, high winds and a failed timing system made for a long and difficult track meet at FA yesterday (FA, Greenville, Dexter,PCHS, Lee, MATT) but the Pirates had a very impressive showing. The girls team finished 2nd place overall with 91 team points, not far behind the much larger FA team at 106 points. The boys, several of them in their first meet ever, had a big improvement over the previous week, finishing 4th overall with 23 points. Girls team highlights:

To say I am extremely proud of our efforts this week is an understatement. I received several comments on how tough this crew is, and how impressive their performances were. To be out in those conditions 5+hours and still be cheering on the fence and running hard as the light was fading was awesome to see. Lots of good things to come from this crew.

The middle school baseball and softball games scheduled for Greenville today have been canceled. No makeup date yet.

Today's High school baseball and softball games vs Greenville have been canceled. Today's tennis vs MA has also been canceled for today. No makeup dates yet. Coaches may be using the rainy day schedule this afternoon. Stay tuned.

PCMS Softball: Tanya and I (Mrs. Viera) are very excited to begin our second year of coaching the MS girls' softball team. Just a reminder that tryouts begin Monday, April 4th at 4:30 in the MS gym. You should've been notified if your child is in need of a physical. Students may NOT begin practice without one. Please have your daughter come ready for potential outdoor practice as well as inside. We have about 24 girls signed up and the gym may get crowded until cuts are made. If it's nice out, we may rotate the girls outside for skills and drills. They should bring sweatshirts just in case. Softball glove, sneakers, sweatshirt, water bottles, and any paperwork should be brought Monday.
