Positive Covid Cases.2-18-22

The Middle School Ski Program has been cancelled today due to weather conditions.
Attention SAD4 families.
The Department of Education recently updated their SOP on 2/16/22. Several changes will be taking place within the District:
-SAD4 will no longer be conducting contact tracing for positive cases.
-We will continue with pooled testing. This has been very valuable in identifying positive cases, often times before symptoms develop.
-We will also continue excluding students with one of the major symptoms of Covid or 2 or more of the less common symptoms for five days, or return with a negative test after 24 hours of symptoms. (Negative home tests are not accepted. Either a Walgreens, a clinic or a curbside test at the school is accepted).
-Additionally, SAD4 will continue with our current practice of asking students with an in-home exposure to quarantine during that person’s 5 days of isolation PLUS 5 additional days. We have found this to be very effective in keeping further cases out of the school setting.
-All students and staff returning from isolation OR quarantine due to in-home exposure are required to wear a “tight-fitting mask” for 5 additional days upon return to school, per the DOE. As we have been doing, if you do not want your child to mask, contact the school nurse and keep your student home for those additional five day. His/her attendance will be marked accordingly.
Feel free to contact Mrs. Viera with any questions. wviera@sad4.org 876-4633 (She does not check Facebook posts often so more than likely won’t see questions posted online).

The PCHS Girls Basketball team game will be streamed on NFHS tomorrow.
All though the PCHS Boys basketball came up short Saturday, they never gave up and maybe played their best game of the year, only to lose to Narraguagus 44-40 in their playin game. A great effort by all.
