We had excellent weather today at the Class C state track meet, and I was very happy with how our 5 girls represented our school. In the 4x100m relay(Sarah, Kendall, Sam, and Molly) we came in seeded 10th, and we finished 10th with a time of 57.26 We were .36 slower than last week, but on a day when all the relay times were down, we dropped less time than other teams and gained ground on the 9th place team. In the 300h, Molly Sipple ran her best time of the year, 53.09. In throwing, we unfortunately hit a late season rough patch and didn't finish as well as we hoped. But I was very happy with how Sam, Kendall and Molly conducted themselves. Sometimes the best victories are not what is done in competition, but rather the maturity displayed when facing disappointment. I definitely see a lot of growth in these girls, and that makes me extremely proud. Special thanks to Kaelyn Bussell, who put in an extra week of practice to be a relay alternate for today. She didn't get to compete, but she took up block holding duties and was an excellent supportive teammate. We had a lot of fun today, and while the end of the season is bittersweet, I know that in a flash it will be March and we will be starting again. Thank you everyone for a great year.

The PCHS Baseball team will play on Tuesday, June 7 at Mt. View starting at 4:00. With the timing of things, their AD had to make a decision and decided on Tuesday. Sorry for any confusion.

PCHS had a great time at the PVC freshman track championships this afternoon in Hampden. All athletes competing had a seasons best performance. Kaelyn Bussell had her best time in the 200m with 33.79 and she also took 6th in high jump with 4-0. Sarah Silva had her best throw in Javelin, with 57-11, earning her 6th place. Jonathan Macneil had his best discus throw of 32-10. Timothy Macneil had his best throw in shotput, 27-03. Great work from all of the freshmen this year! The seedings for Class C states are in, and representing PCHS will be Samantha Goodwin in Javelin, Molly Sipple in 300LH and Discus, and Kendall Kimball in discus. Sarah Silva, Kendall Kimball, Samantha Goodwin, Molly Sipple and Kaelyn Bussell are also entered in the girls 4x100m relay. Should be a fun time in Lewiston on Saturday. Go pirates!

Had a great time at PVCs tonight in very muggy conditions. Kaelyn, Sarah, Molly, Sam and Kendall represented PCHS well. We didnt finish as well as we hoped in throwing events today, Samantha and Kendall finished outside of placing at 7th and 9th in javelin, and Molly and Kendall went 6th and 7th in discus. In running events however, we did really well. In the 100m, Kaelyn Bussell had her best time of the year with 15.87 shaving an impressive 3 tenths off. Sarah Silva tied her best time of 14.85. Sarah, Kendall, Sam and Molly came in to the girls 4x100m relay ranked 6th, but improved for the second consecutive week and finished 4th with 56.90. Sam ran her second best time of the year in the 400m just minutes later, finishing 7th with 1:09.43. In the 300H, Molly finished 4th with a time of 53.18, a 3.79 second improvement, and an automatic qualifying time for States. Tuesday is the frosh championship, and Saturday is class C states. Go pirates!

It was great weather for the JV PVCs in Brewer this afternoon, and the PCHS track team had a great time with several good performances. Gracie Talbot was our only competitor on the girl's side today, she had her best throw of the season in shotput, 24-00 and finished 8th. For the boys highlights, Karson Tibbetts finished 6th in High Jump with a height of 4-00. Timothy Macneil( 66-00) and Jonathan Macneil (36-00) had their best throws of the year in Javelin. Timothy, Beau, and Alex came very close to best marks in other events as well. I would like to thank my seniors, Ariana, Shania, and Alex for the good times and hard work over the years. I hope you all find success as you graduate and enter the next stage of life. Our attention now turns to PVCs on Friday, where PCHS will be represented by Kaelyn Bussell (100m), Sarah Silva (100m), Molly Sipple (300 LH, Discus), Kendall Kimball (Javelin, Discus), and Samantha Goodwin (400m, Javelin). All 5 are on the 4x100m relay as well. Go Pirates!
