Recap from Coach Goulette

Saturday, September 19, the PCHS boys varsity soccer team improved to 6-0 on the season after winning their home match vs Shead. I appreciate how our team worked hard to get everyone involved - we were making great runs, nice give and goes, some excellent crosses and corner kicks and passed the ball very well. Tally of goals is as follows;
Abel Currier - 3
Braden Gilbert - 1
Finn Goulette - 1
Jacob Knowles - 1
Kolbin Thurlow - 4
Nathan Beckwith - 3
Phoenix Brown - 1
Chase Lander - 5
Grady Knowles - 2
Kaleb Hammac - 1
Dominic Porter - 1
Aiden Pelletier - 1
Eli Gallo - 1
Isaiah McFarland - 1

That's a true team effort! We had some very unselfish play, and I can't thank our team leaders enough for facilitating the distribution of opportunities.

To the Shead AD and players - you guys are a class act! Not once did I see one of your players hang their head or lose their composure - even after getting down early. You guys came to compete and played your tails off until the final whistle. Your spirits were never dampened and the manner in which you played and kept upbeat is a testament to your sportsmanship. Well done, Shead!

Recap from Coach Goulette:

Your PCHS boys varsity soccer team continued their winning streak on September 16 by defeating Greenville 14-0. It took a bit to get going as Greenville's keeper made numerous good saves, but once Chase Lander knocked in his 100th goal off a Nathan Beckwith assist...the ice was broken! It took less than a minute to score again - and we kept the pressure on for the rest of the half, going into halftime 10-0. Again, our defense starting with Abel Currier in goal, Finnegan Goulette, Braden Gilbert, and Kaleb Hammac playing our back positions kept the opponent from taking many shots. Offensively, we continue to look better and better as our communication improves and we work our angles with good passing and crosses. Lander finished the evening with 7 goals. Hammac and Beckwith each added two while Phoenix Brown, Grady Knowles and Eli Gallo both added one. Most of the assists eluded me, but we had a bunch. Starter, Kolbin Thurlow played well and helped control possession along with Jacob Knowles. Dominic Porter, Aiden Pelletier, Isaiah McFarland and Gallo all had valuable minutes off the bench and kept the pressure on during their time. Thanks to everyone for showing up to support these boys! We love seeing that hill filled with Pirate fans! Saturday we host Shead.
