PCMS Basketball Tryout Letter to Parents It’s that time of year for basketball tryouts. Tryouts are for all PCMS students in grades 6-8. . Listed below are the days and times that tryouts will occur. Please understand that in order for an athlete to be chosen for any given team, they must be present during tryouts. In the event your child misses due to illness or injury, a meeting with the athletic director MUST happen and the athlete MUST be given a tryout before being considered for a team. Athletes need to have all their paperwork turned in prior to the first day of tryouts. If they played a fall sport, they are all set to tryout unless their physical has run out. Athletes must show proof of having had a physical within the past two years. Please check with Mrs. Viera to see if they are all set. A Concussion ImPACT Test will be administered to any athlete who has yet to take it for any athlete who is 12 years or older. This year there will not be a B Team Basketball program. In place of this, there will be an intramural program for any individual who wants to improve their individual basketball skills. This program will not start until after the first of the year and having someone run the program. Stay tuned on more information coming later on. Due to CDC/DOE Covid Guidelines, the following may be in place at the start of the season as there is no clear guidance from the MPA or Administration at this time. ALL athletes, coaches, officials, and administrators will have to wear a mask during practices and games all season long. More information is forth coming in regards to these guidelines. PCHS girls soccer ended their season with a 5-0 loss at undefeated MCI today. This was hands down the best team we faced all year, and we stepped up and played them very well. This season was difficult due to low numbers and injuries, and today was no exception. But we didn't let the circumstances get us down. The bus ride down was filled with singing and laughter and the girls played with tons of heart. Great way to end the season. Thank you to our seniors, we will miss you next year. GO PIRATES!

Northern Light, Sangerville will be coming in at the end of the month (tentatively 10/29) to run our annual FLU CLINIC. Those who have signed permission forms handed in (from last month’s packets) will get their shot then. If your student has already had the flu shot this year between when you filled the form out and now, please notify me so I can remove him/her from the list. If you want your child to get the flu shot but haven’t filled out a form, I will be attempting to post the forms here so you can print them out and return them. Or you can email me and I’ll send a form home with your child/via email. If we do not have your signed permission, your child will NOT get the flu shot! It will help in the planning if we have all requests in by this Friday, 10/22. Thank you! -Mrs. Viera wviera@sad4.org 876-4633
