PCHS Envirothon

The PCHS Envirothon team competed in the Regional Envirothon at Kents Hill in Readfield Maine on May 18.  Out of the 19 teams present, PCHS came in 3rd place and earned a trip to the State Envirothon at Aghaloma Farms in Knox Maine on May 25.  At the state envirothon PCHS placed 6 out of the top 12 teams in the state.  64 teams competed across the state in this years regional envirothon events.

Envirothon is a state- and nation-wide environmental competition where high school students test their knowledge of natural resources and current environmental issues. Teams consisting of 3-5 students compete first at a regional level, answering questions and solving hands-on problems at five stations: Wildlife, Water/Aquatics, Forestry, Soils, and a Current Natural Resource Issue. This year’s current issue is “Urban/Community Forestry.”
